Last Monday, a peace rally was held at UNH Durham in recognition of the tenth anniversary of US military intervention in Afghanistan. The event, sponsored by two campus activist groups, featured as visiting speaker Ethan McCord, a veteran of the war in Iraq. In the infamous Collateral Murder video, Ethan is one of the soldiers visible on the ground after the helicopter attack. He assisted in getting wounded children out of a van that was blindly fired upon by a helicopter gunner. Ethan spoke about his experience in Iraq to the small crowd, which consisted of several former and prospective military soldiers.
The Collateral Murder video is one of the most well known files from the leak of military information which the government is attributing to Bradley Manning. The event was also covered by the Union Leader. Free Concord video below:
